Treteno is a village in the centre of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, about 20 kilometres northwest of Dubrovnik. The Adriatic Coastal Road goes through the village.
Trsteno is famous for its natural beauty and rich history. The arboretum in Trsteno is the only arboretum on the Croatian Adriatic coast. It is the oldest monument of Croatian garden architecture and the oldest arboretum in the world. It takes up 28 acres of a country estate that belonged to the noble family of Gučetić-Gozze from the 15th century.
Trsteno is connected to Dubrovnik by bus lines.
The residents mostly work in tourism and related hospitality activities.
