The Municipality of Konavle lies about 20 kilometres east of Dubrovnik, on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
The following residential areas belong to the municipality: Brotnice, Cavtat, Čilipi, Drvenik, Duba Konavoska, Dubravka, Dunave, Đurinići, Gabrili, Gruda, Jasenice, Komaji, Kuna Konavoska, Lovorno, Ljuta, Mihanići, Mikulići, Močići, Molunat, Obod, Palje Brdo, Pločice, Poljice, Popovići, Pridvorje, Radovčići, Stravča, Šilješki, Uskoplje, Vitaljina, Vodovađa, Zastolje, Zvekovica.
The biggest town and the centre of the Municipality of Konavle is Cavtat. Cavtat lies on the west coast of Konavle, 19 kilometres southeast of Dubrovnik, below the Adriatic Coastal Road. Dubrovnik Airport is in Konavle, in the village of Čilipi.
As tourism developed in the whole Dubrovnik area, the majority of people in Konavle began working in that industry.
